INCIDENT TYPE: Assault with intent to do Great Bodily Harm less than Murder

DATE OCCURRED:  Sunday, September 30, 2018

 

LOCATION OCCURRED:  Huntington Ave. in the Township of Kalamazoo

 

VICTIM INFO:  52-Year-old Kalamazoo man

   

INJURIES RECEIVED:  Critical head trauma 

 

INCIDENT SUMMARY:   At approximately 4:30 am the Township of Kalamazoo Police Department was called to investigate an incident that occurred on Huntington Ave.  Officers found that a Kalamazoo Township resident confronted a man allegedly stealing his medical marijuana outside of his residence. An altercation allegedly ensued, and the resident struck the man with a blunt object. The man who was confronted in the exchange with the resident, was transported to Borgess Hospital, is being treated for his injuries and is in critical condition.  Upon investigation, the resident was taken into custody and lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail on a charge of assault with the intent to do great bodily harm less than murder.  The case remains open and is being forwarded to the Kalamazoo County Prosecutors office for review.  Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the Township of Kalamazoo Police Department at 269-343-0551 or Silent Observer at 269-343-2100

INCIDENT TYPE: Attempted bank robbery   

 

 

DATE OCCURRED:  Wednesday September 5, 2018

 

 

LOCATION OCCURRED:  Advia Credit Union  550 S. Riverview Dr., Parchment MI

 

 

VICTIM INFO:  None

 

  

INJURIES RECEIVED:  None

 

 

INCIDENT SUMMARY:   A suspect entered the Advia Credit Union and presented the teller with a note, requesting money.  After being questioned by the teller, the suspect ran away from the building and was last seen running east across Riverview Drive.  The police are asking anyone with information that may help with their investigation or identify the suspect, to contact the Township of Kalamazoo Police Department at (269) 343-0568 or Silent Observer at (269) 343-2100

 

 

SUSPECT INFORMATION:  Suspect is described as an African-American male, approximately 6’0’ and 200 lbs. Suspect had a short beard and mustache. (Please see attached photo)

INCIDENT COMPLAINT:  18-002687                                         

INCIDENT TYPE: Flee and Elude, MDP, Felony assault                          

DATE OCCURRED: Friday August 10, 2018         TIME: 8:10 A.M.

LOCATION OCCURRED:  2700 Block E. Main St., Township of Kalamazoo

INCIDENT SUMMARY:

On 8-10-2018 at approximately 8:10 A.M, the Township Kalamazoo Police Department (TKPD) responded to a call for assistance.  Family members reported a subject may be suffering from a mental health crisis. When officers arrived, they located a 26-year-old man standing in the parking lot of a business wielding a knife.  Officers attempts to get the subject to drop the knife and comply with verbal commands were unsuccessful. The subject commandeered a family members running vehicle in an attempt to flee the area.  While fleeing, the subject intentionally rammed a TKPD patrol car, and then led officers from Township of Kalamazoo and Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department on a chase which ended in Allegan County.  Officers were able to take the subject into custody as he tried to run away from his vehicle. There are no reported injuries to the subject or officers. The 26-year-old man was immediately transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment. The case will be forwarded to the Kalamazoo County Prosecutors office for review on criminal charges.

INCIDENT TYPE: Bank Robbery

 

 

DATE OCCURRED:  July 20, 2018

 

 

LOCATION OCCURRED: 300 Block of W. Mosel Ave., Township of Kalamazoo

 

 

INCIDENT SUMMARY: Township of Kalamazoo Police Officers and Detectives have obtained photos of the suspect and suspect vehicle from the bank robbery that occurred on Friday, July 20, 2018.  The attached photos are of the suspect as he is entering the bank and the suspect vehicle as it was fleeing the area.
