In response to the severe storm that struck the Charter Township of Kalamazoo on May 15, 2025, causing widespread tree damage, downed power lines, and blocked roadways, the Township Board swiftly and unanimously approved emergency funding for storm debris cleanup efforts. The decision reflects the Township’s commitment to service and its proactive approach to supporting the community in times of need. On June 2, 2025 curbside brush pickup will commence across affected areas. Beginning immediately, tree removal services are being prioritized and evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Residents are asked to place manageable brush near the roadside. For larger trees or more complex needs, residents may submit a service request via the Township website at ktwp.org/contact-and-hours or by calling (269) 381-8080. Clean Water Action Canvassing Activity – May–July 2025

The Charter Township of Kalamazoo has been notified by Clean Water Action, a nonprofit environmental organization, that its staff will be canvassing in the Township from May through July 30, 2025. Canvassers may visit residential neighborhoods between:

• Monday–Friday: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM

• Saturday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Clean Water Action is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit focused on clean water advocacy. Their activities include engaging residents in conversation, gathering signatures, and offering opportunities to get involved in policy initiatives.

No license is required for this activity under Township Ordinance No. 308, which exempts nonprofit and educational organizations not engaged in the sale of goods or services.

Canvassers carry photo identification from Clean Water Action. A list of canvassing staff has been provided to the Township.
