In response to the severe storm that struck the Charter Township of Kalamazoo on May 15, 2025, causing widespread tree damage, downed power lines, and blocked roadways, the Township Board swiftly and unanimously approved emergency funding for storm debris cleanup efforts. The decision reflects the Township’s commitment to service and its proactive approach to supporting the community in times of need. On June 2, 2025 curbside brush pickup will commence across affected areas. Beginning immediately, tree removal services are being prioritized and evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Residents are asked to place manageable brush near the roadside. For larger trees or more complex needs, residents may submit a service request via the Township website at ktwp.org/contact-and-hours or by calling (269) 381-8080. By the power of MCL 41.65 the township clerk is responsible for maintaining the township's records, including the general ledger, meeting minutes, notices, and the book of oaths. In addition to overseeing the management of township records, the clerk is responsible for overseeing township elections. The individual must appoint a deputy and must be bonded.
