About
By the power of the Charter Township Act 359 of 1947 the Kalamazoo Township Board of Trustees is made up of seven elected members including the supervisor, clerk, treasurer and four township trustees. Each member's vote holds equal weight and "all legislative authority and powers of each charter township shall be vested in and shall be exercised and determined by a township board." In general, the board is responsible for three broad categories mandated by Michigan law: assessing, tax collection, and elections.
