In response to the severe storm that struck the Charter Township of Kalamazoo on May 15, 2025, causing widespread tree damage, downed power lines, and blocked roadways, the Township Board swiftly and unanimously approved emergency funding for storm debris cleanup efforts. The decision reflects the Township’s commitment to service and its proactive approach to supporting the community in times of need. On June 2, 2025 curbside brush pickup will commence across affected areas. Beginning immediately, tree removal services are being prioritized and evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Residents are asked to place manageable brush near the roadside. For larger trees or more complex needs, residents may submit a service request via the Township website at ktwp.org/contact-and-hours or by calling (269) 381-8080. Do I need a permit for my neighborhood block party?

Yes. The Road Commission of Kalamazoo County Application to Construct in Right-of-Way must be completed and submitted to the Road Commission of Kalamazoo County. Please allow 10-14 business days for review and processing applications to construct in the right-of-way, unless otherwise noted in State statute.  A permit is not valid until you receive the approved permit with a signature and permit number.
