In response to the severe storm that struck the Charter Township of Kalamazoo on May 15, 2025, causing widespread tree damage, downed power lines, and blocked roadways, the Township Board swiftly and unanimously approved emergency funding for storm debris cleanup efforts. The decision reflects the Township’s commitment to service and its proactive approach to supporting the community in times of need. On June 2, 2025, curbside brush pickup will commence across affected areas.  Residents are asked to place manageable brush near the roadside.

Will the police department check on my house for me while I am out of town?

One way to prevent home invasion while you are away from your home for an extended period of time is to request a vacation house check.  To request an officer check on your residence while you are away to ensure your home is secure, please fill out the Vacation House Check Request Form.  Once submitted the Patrol Division Lieutenant will be notified of your request.
