In response to the severe storm that struck the Charter Township of Kalamazoo on May 15, 2025, causing widespread tree damage, downed power lines, and blocked roadways, the Township Board swiftly and unanimously approved emergency funding for storm debris cleanup efforts. The decision reflects the Township’s commitment to service and its proactive approach to supporting the community in times of need. On June 2, 2025, curbside brush pickup will commence across affected areas.  Residents are asked to place manageable brush near the roadside.

LOCATION OCCURRED: 1900 block of East G Ave. Parchment, Michigan

INCIDENT SUMMARY: On 12/31/2023 shortly after midnight, Township of Kalamazoo Police officers responded to a report of an armed robbery that had occurred in the City of Parchment. Two juvenile victims told officers two subjects stole property from them after assaulting and pointing a firearm at them. Through further investigation, officers were able to locate the subjects, the stolen property, along with a semi-automatic rifle. Both juveniles involved were arrested and lodged at the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Detention Center.
