NEWS RELEASE

DATE REPORTED: Sunday February 20, 2022 at approximately 11:20 a.m.

LOCATION OCCURRED: 3300 Block of W. Main St., Township of Kalamazoo

INCIDENT SUMMARY:

On February 20, 2022, the Township of Kalamazoo Police Department responded to 911 calls of shots fired at the Landings Apartments. When officers arrived they found several bullet holes in the walls of an exterior hallway of one apartment building and one bullet hole in a window of an occupied apartment in an adjacent building. All apartments with exterior bullet holes were checked to ensure there were no additional victims. There has been no report of anyone being injured as a result of the shots fired.  

Officers believe this is not a random act of violence and the general public was not targeted.

The case remains under investigation, and the Township of Kalamazoo Police Department is asking for anyone that may have information to contact Silent Observer at (269) 343-2100 or the Township of Kalamazoo Police Department at (269) 488-8911.
