In our newsletter there was a mistake with the wording on Recreational Fires: The sentence that reads. Fire needs to be 25 feet within any structure. What was meant to say is fires need to be 25 feet away from any structure.   The Master plan for 2023  is on the Planning Zoning page for public participation.

LOCATION OCCURRED: 1500 block of Gull Rd, Kalamazoo Township

INCIDENT SUMMARY: At approximately 6:00 p.m., officers from the Township of Kalamazoo Police Department conducted an operation in the 1500 block of Gull Rd to make contact with an individual(s) who were attempting to sell a stolen laptop they likely attained in a previously reported unarmed robbery.  Once in the area, officers contacted two juveniles who attempted to run from uniformed officers.  After a short foot pursuit, both suspects were taken into custody without further incident.  The suspects, both from Kalamazoo, did have the stolen laptop in their possession and were lodged at the Kalamazoo Juvenile Detention Center on multiple felony charges.

The Township of Kalamazoo Police Department is asking that anyone with information related to this event is asked to contact the Township of Kalamazoo Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit at (269) 488-8911 or Silent Observer at (269) 343-2100.
