LOCATION OCCURRED: 600 Block, N. Riverview Drive, Parchment, Michigan

INCIDENT SUMMARY:

On May 10, 2024 at approximately 6:30 a.m., Township of Kalamazoo police officers responded to a report of an armed robbery of a gas station in the City of Parchment. A male suspect entered the store and demanded money while pointing a firearm at an employee. The suspect fled the area in a vehicle. The suspect has not yet been identified. The Township of Kalamazoo Police Department is asking for help identifying the suspect and the suspect vehicle.

Suspect: A 16-year-old Kalamazoo resident was arrested and lodged at the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home.

Through investigation and with help from the public, TKPD detectives and patrol officers located and arrested the suspect for the armed robbery committed at the Parchment gas station. During the interaction with the suspect, officers also found the suspect in possession of a concealed weapon. The suspect was lodged at the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home without incident.

The Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s Office reviewed the investigation and authorized the following charges:

· Armed Robbery: A felony offense for which the offender may receive life or any term of years in prison.

· Carrying a Concealed Weapon (CCW): A felony offense for which the offender may receive 5 years in prison or $2,500 fine.

The Township of Kalamazoo Police Department would like to thank the community for their efforts and tips that helped identify the suspect in this case.
