In response to the severe storm that struck the Charter Township of Kalamazoo on May 15, 2025, causing widespread tree damage, downed power lines, and blocked roadways, the Township Board swiftly and unanimously approved emergency funding for storm debris cleanup efforts. The decision reflects the Township’s commitment to service and its proactive approach to supporting the community in times of need. On June 2, 2025 curbside brush pickup will commence across affected areas. Beginning immediately, tree removal services are being prioritized and evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Residents are asked to place manageable brush near the roadside. For larger trees or more complex needs, residents may submit a service request via the Township website at ktwp.org/contact-and-hours or by calling (269) 381-8080. Police Records Division

The Township of Kalamazoo Records Division is constituted by two full-time records clerks, one full-time contracted records clerk, and one part-time typist. The wide array of responsibilities of the Records Division includes, most notably, transcribing police reports, government grant maintenance and reporting, case submissions to the Kalamazoo County Prosecuting Attorney’s and Township of Kalamazoo Attorney’s offices, sex offender verification, and processing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, in addition to processing inter-agency requests and requests for traffic reports. The Records Division also provides digital fingerprinting services to our community.
